Medical Assistant Job Description

Position Overview: Are you passionate about women’s health and eager to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and dynamic environment? As a Medical Assistant at Santa Fe OBGYN, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to our patients. We are looking for a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative setting and is dedicated to providing excellent patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist with patient intake, including taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Clinical Duties: Perform and assist with various clinical procedures, including lab tests, EKGs, and injections, as well as ensuring a sterile and safe environment.
- Administrative Support: Schedule appointments, handle patient correspondence, manage medical records, and process billing and insurance information.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless and efficient workflow, while always maintaining a focus on patient care and comfort.
- Education and Advocacy: Provide patients with information on health management, procedures, and preventive care, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA) preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in an Ob/Gyn practice or similar healthcare setting is a plus, but not required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Attitude: A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, with a commitment to maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
