Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT)

Feminizing
Hormone Therapy
(Estrogen + AntiAndrogens)

Feminizing hormone treatment involves a therapeutic combination of estrogen and anti-androgen medications. Feminizing hormone treatment can encourage feminine physical characteristics, including reduced facial hair & mammary tissue growth.

Medications: Estrogen (oral, transdermal, or injectable) and anti-androgens (e.g., spironolactone)
Expected effects: Breast development, decreased body hair, fat redistribution, reduced muscle mass, softer skin
Monitoring: Regular labs to assess hormone levels and screen for potential side effects such as blood clot risk

Masculinizing
Hormone Therapy
(Testosterone)

Masculinizing Hormone Treatment utilizes testosterone protocols to encourage the development of traditionally masculine physical traits, including voice deepening, as well as enhanced facial and body hair development.

Delivery methods: Injectable (IM or subcutaneous), transdermal gel or patch, or bioidentical pellet therapy (e.g., SottoPelle)
Expected effects: Voice deepening, facial/body hair growth, fat redistribution, cessation of menses, increased muscle mass, clitoral enlargement
Monitoring: Regular labs to track hormone levels, red blood cell count, liver function, and cholesterol

Bioidentical GAHT

We offer bioidentical testosterone pellet therapy using the SottoPelle method for patients seeking a low-maintenance option. Pellets are placed under the skin during a short office visit and release a steady dose of hormones over several months. Many patients appreciate this option for its convenience and consistent hormone levels. We’ll discuss whether this method is right for you and provide individualized dosing based on your lab results and goals.

Gender-Affirming Surgery

We are proud to offer hysterectomy and/or oophorectomy surgeries as part of gender-affirming care for patients pursuing medical transition.

These procedures can be performed laparoscopically or vaginally, depending on individual anatomy and preferences, and may be covered by insurance with appropriate documentation.

Inclusive Gynecologic & Preventive Care

We provide a full spectrum of gynecologic care in a trauma-aware, affirming environment. Services include:

• STI screening and treatment
• Cervical cancer screening (if applicable)
• Chest/breast health counseling
• Contraceptive counseling tailored to your anatomy and hormone use
• Pelvic exams, only when desired or medically necessary—with full consent

We understand that pelvic exams can be stressful or triggering, and we will always talk through the process with you beforehand and tailor your care to your comfort level.

Mental Health & Community Support

While we do not require a mental health letter for hormone therapy, we are happy to collaborate with affirming mental health providers if needed for documentation, emotional support, or referrals.
